Jan. 2 () –

The European Union has called on North Korea on Monday to stop fueling “military tensions” after its latest launch of ballistic missiles and the recent incursions of drones outside its borders.

“Korea’s continued violation of UN Security Council resolutions and recent statements indicating that it intends to continue such illegal actions do not help the (North Korean) people,” the spokesman said in a statement. Foreign Minister of the EU, Peter Stano.

North Korea launched three new short-range ballistic missiles into the Sea of Japan, also known as the East Sea, on Saturday morning, a day after Seoul successfully launched a solid-fuel space launch.

Pyongyang fired around 70 ballistic missiles in 2022, including eight intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs), and three cruise missiles, according to the South Korean news agency Yonhap on New Year’s Eve.
