The new RTX 4000 are just around the corner, but it seems that the current generation is not over yet.
The new generation of graphics cards from NVIDIA, the RTX4000, will be presented on September 20. And according to the leaked benchmarks, it’s going to “destroy” the current RTX 3000. That’s why it seems a bit strange that NVIDIA is planning new RTX 3000 graphics cards.
according to filter MEGAsize GPUNVIDIA is going to launch three new RTX 3000 graphics cards in a matter of days. an RTX 3060 with 8 GB of RAM, an RTX 3060 TI with GDDR6X memory, and a new RTX 3070 TI with a new GPU.
What’s the point of launching these new cards when the new generation RTX 4000 is so close? If we take into account that Intel announced a couple of days ago all the specifications of its Intel ARC cards, the pieces start to fall into place.
With the revealed specifications, we know that the Intel ARC will have a similar power to the RTX 3060, 3060 Ti and 3070 cards… which are just the ones that NVIDIA is going to renew.
If we pay attention to this leak, the new RTX 3060 It would arrive with less memory (down from 12 to 8 GB of DDR6), and a 128-bit memory bus. The goal would be lower the price of this modelto compete with the Intel ARC ARC A580.
We also have a new RTX 3060 TI with faster memory, 8 GB of DDR6X. With this, users will question the purchase of a Intel ARC A750.
Finally, the new RTX 3070 TI would carry a more advanced GPU, the GA102, which NVIDIA uses in more powerful models. That way I would easily leave behind the Intel ARC A770.
It’s a tactic NVIDIA frequently employs with AMD.– When announcing new Radeon cards, NVIDIA releases new models tweaked to match those specs.
Taking into account that we are already at the end of the cycle, these releases would also have a second benefit for NVIDIA: empty your stock warehouses to make room for the new RTX 4000.
A third reading is that it could also mean that NVIDIA is going to launch the RTX 4080 and RTX 4090 in September, and leave the more affordable models, RTX 4060 and 4070, for a few months.
