Bret Michaels took to social media on Saturday with a heartbreaking announcement ahead of his show in New York.
“Tonight, our entire show is dedicated to the sudden loss of our good friend Junior, the husband of our production manager, CEO and lifelong friend, Janna Purkey Elias, and their amazing daughter Kendall, our production assistant ”Michaels wrote on Facebook. “Today, our hearts and souls bleed for our beloved Janna and her daughter Kendall. His father, an old friend and one of the best production directors in the business, died suddenly in Brazil.
“I was on the phone when she received the news and I will always feel her and her daughter’s pain,” he added. “And one day before Janna’s birthday, life is bittersweet and sometimes absolutely beyond hard and indescribable. My heart, my prayers and my deepest condolences to you both. You are forever loved and family. Anything we can do, let us all know. You have a lot of people who love you: family, friends and fans.”
Fans quickly responded by sending condolences and prayers to the family.
Michaels, who attended Mechanicsburg High School, was scheduled to perform at the Turning Stone Resort Casino in Verona, New York, on Saturday.
